I've been seeing these "cake truffles" or as some people may call them, "cake balls" all over the internet lately. Frankly, I prefer to call them cake truffles. Something tells me these
bite size cake treats are going to take over the world! Well, maybe I'm exagerating a little bit, but they are starting to get quite a following.
Although all the recipes I found on cake truffles says to use boxed cake mix and store bought frosting I decided I would make everything from scratch...because that's how I roll! Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that I just prefer to make all my desserts from scratch.
I went with Red Velvet. One of my favorites, then I made my own cream cheese frosting.
